Question regarding Bluetooth
Question. Have an old nexus 7 want to Bluetooth it to my truck and to the wireless obd2 so I can use torque but I still want to Bluetooth my nexus 6 phone for incoming calls
Not seeing that I can have sync see both units unless there's an app that will make the nexus 7 act as a phone as well
Any ideas.
Thanks

I just finished reading the majority of this thread, there's a lot of great info here! I was pretty much set on giving a double DIN HU with Android Auto a try but I'm doing this first. The biggest downside to this setup that I can see is that you're still stuck with the factory HU's sound quality. A JL FiX86 or similar setup would solve this issue and still bring me in at half the cost of the DD HU I wanted.

apk Download Link
Major Update:
The folks over at obdCANEX.com have made substantial progress on an android app that will allow us to control the radio functions. The app requires an obdlinkMX bluetooth module, found here: http://obdcanex.com/o/hardware/obdli...ers/obdlink-mx also you can probably find it on amazon. I have been emailing the company for quite a while now and they've just sent me a test app that works almost entirely perfect besides for the tune rocker which they are currently addressing. I don't believe I am allowed to post the .apk publicly, but I urge you all to shoot them an email and offer to help test out the app!
Short Demonstration: YouTube EDIT: Video will be up when I figure out how to make it work..
But it looks like this

Just finished reading this whole thread and I'm really interested on installing in my truck. I am currently working on a WIRED backup camera solution when using an android tablet and I have it working, but can't charge the tablet and have camera plugged in at the same time. There is only 1 plug on my phone that I am using as a test, so I need to figure out how to have the camera plugged into the phone and charge at same time. I am assuming that all the tablets also only have 1 usb port, but I have some parts coming in the mail tomorrow that I hope will fix this issue.
But the reason I'm posting is to find the best modern tablet to fit the metra dash kit. I see a lot of people using the nexus 7, but was really hoping to get an 8 inch tablet to fit without crazy modification like Genos (I dont have those skills). Many of the tablets people said they used in this thread are a little old now (even the nexus is 2013).
Are there any recommendations for a new tablet purchase with the metra kit? (it is really hard to get find screen dimensions for tablets, everyone just lists the diagonal which doesn't help much)
And I'll be sure to post the backup camera details once I have everything working.
