Default I did not know that our 2012 had Hill Start Assist!

I know, I know........read the OM!!!!!
Learned in another post here about the 2013 having this feature when towing that I also found that our 2012 has the feature as well!
Now, I don't know if this feature is only on the Max Tow package, or if the standard pickup has it as well when towing.............reads almost like only the Max Tow has it though......

From an article about the 2012:

Next, Ford has added a couple features that make driving the 2012 F150 easier, including a Hill Start Assist system and a new four wheel drive system on the higher end F150 models (Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum). The Hill Start Assist system is fairly self explanatory, helping to prevent the truck from rolling when pulling out from a stop on a steep grade. The new 4x4 system includes an auto mode that allows the higher trimline F150 models to move automatically from RWD to 4WD on the fly – saving drivers the effort of coming to a stop to change into 4WD in events where the weather or road surface suddenly turns ugly.

My 2011 f250 had it and my 2012 f150 has it. Very handy feature. It's much more refined on the f150. The f250 was kinda violent and unwilling to release the brakes when the gas pedal was pressed.

On any 4x4 f150 09+ you can switch from rwd to 4x4 just turn the dial. You dont need to stop to do it.

The funny thing is that I have used it...........but, I just figured that the EB had the torque to hold the truck in place....DUH!

Yeah, it's a shame it only lats for a few seconds. My 2003 Durango had hill start assist, and would hold until you decided to go.

Is this available on earlier models of F150's? My truck feels like it has it on small hills.

Agree with you there, shipmate! You just have to know how to use the tools you have...but then again somepeople can't chew gum and walk at the same time either...

Well yes, that is true.....but it's still a nice feature to have......do you sing out loud to yourself for entertainment, or do you listen to the radio? Kind of the same thing....God gave you vocal chords long before he gave us radios....
