Looking at buying a 2012 or 2013 f150. The black fender flares that seem to come on all fx4s, can you order an fx4 without them or is it part of the package? I like the color matched bumpers and mirrors on the fx4, but I don't like the non color matched fender flares. Is there another trim package I should be looking at instead? I don't want to have to paint them either. I would just remove but I think there are holes underneath..

Looks like you have graphics which may be an appearance package of some sort. I don't want that.

I bought some "new take offs" painted Lariat flares for my'11 FX4.

You can buy the fx2 flares and ptm them.

If you buy the right color FX2 flares they won't need to be painted.
There are usually some "new takeoffs" on ebay.

Depending on your color they may not match exactly. For example when I buy ingot silver for my truck there are 4 different variants, you have to take a paint sample and match it.

I guess it depends how picky you are...

The color matched fender flares on the 2012/13 FX4 only come on the trim level with the stripe and black 20 inch wheels, I do agree with you, I would rather have the color matched without the stripe.

I have an xlt which didn't even come with flares. Found some take offs on eBay, could've had them really cheap if I wouldn't have gotten into a bidding war.
