Arrow Fox Shocks Advice Needed

So I have a 2011 FX4. I want to level the truck and add 33" tires. I was wondering if adding Fox shocks is a smart move. Will the 2.5s make the ride stiffer? I hear you get 2" of lift in the front shocks? Will a reservoir help in shock life and ride?

The ride is stiffer on initial install but then settles down a bit; overall they are stiffer than factory but still a good ride. With the stiffer shock you also get better handling, and over the rough stuff there is no comparison. With the 2.5 system, you can adjust from 0-3 inches of lift although maxing them out will make for a really rough ride. I am set at 2.25 inches but will probably go to 2.5 inches when I finally get taller tires. But at that setting and 33.5 inch tall Duratracs, the ride and performance is great.

When i talked to Fox the ride quality between 2, 2.5 , and up are the same. Only difference being the amount of oil and construction material. Obviously any models with adjustable compression, rebound, etc will ride different.

Hey DD.. I noticed the ICON UCA. Did you have that system on before the Fox?

I'm also wonderin' if the new 2014 LCA can be adapted into 2009-13s.... would like to find out. Obviously its mounting and mating compents would have to be able to accept it. This comes to mind after having talked with a few suspension aftermarketeers (like spring mousketeers) and they always ask if I have a 2014. ot me to thinking..

Best regards,

FR

Hey FR...no, I had the Icon UCAs installed with the Fox 2.5 coilovers as part of the Full Race specified system.

I don't know anything about the 2014 component changes that were made.

Thanks; the bumper is from Addictive Desert Design (ADD). Mine is the Ecoboost Venom in Hammer Black Powdercoating with Stealth Panels in Satin Black, integrated Skid Plate with Intercooler Vents, and Rigid 6-inch SR-Series LED Flood lights. I added the upper PIAA 6-inch 520 Series ATP Offroad lights and lower PIAA 5-inch 540 Series Ion Plasma Fog/Driving lights.

DesertDawg I thought you had a red truck with the 4" Fabtech lift and the Eco was your old truck? When I was researching lifts yours kept coming up.

Which one of your trucks handled the larger tires best!? Im debating between an ecoboost w/3.55s and a 5.0L w/3.73s to push my 3" lift & 35" tires.
