Sounds badass. Thanks for the (useful) explanation.

No prob! I have a viper smart start system and love it! Expensive and yearly fee but extremely convenient and worth every penny. Nice to not have a range for the remote and also be notified by text if an alarm has been triggered.

I saw this post on ford's website

Gave the dealer a call (again) and I have an appointment scheduled for Friday.

1 - $585 Installed
2 - They need the car all day, doesn't take all day to install, just have a specialist coming in to do the install
3 - $49/year charge for the plan

Got a call from the dealer today, they wanted me to also leave my cell phone with them during the install. Didn't get the voicemail until they were closed so I dropped the truck off with the keys but without the phone. I am not leaving the phone. I'll call in the morning and see if I can come in when they need the phone.

Yeah they just want to install the app and setup a user ID for you. Whatever you do, be absolutely sure that they won't know your password and don't have a way of getting to it either.

Now they say they don't need the phone. I talked to the guy doing the install. He said he had several to do today.

Did you pay the $585? Also does that price include the first year's subscription? Thanks for the pics BTW.
