Default Ford Bi-Directional Remote Start

I know a lot comes up about remote starts and have not heard many people talk about this one. I had this one installed the other day and I will say, it works great. Hit the button twice a little red light flashes, then a green light confirms the signal was received and your car is started....Worked great from some pretty decent distances as well. I opted for a Ford remote start because I didnt want to take any chances when it came to warranty. Only have 10k miles on my truck so remote start is covered for the remainder of my warranty.....

I also can not decide what one I want. Had the truck 5 months and with the temperatures hitting minus zero, I really miss having one.

Can you give us any more info on the Bi-Directional one you installed?

Part numbers, price, etc.

You said it had a decent range. About how far did you get out of it?

That is one of my BIGGEST concerns I have with the factory remotes is the range they have.

Other than that, I have always been an "OEM" sort of guy.

Thanks, Dave

the cost on the bi directional is the same as the 6 button ford alarm remote start but labour is less time.but the 2 way is nice if you cant see your truck.

What sort of range do you get with yours?

The range should be the same as the Remote Start/Alarm System that I have and is roughly 800-1000'. If you hold it to your chin when using it you can get farther range.

Ok, some more updates...the part number for the bi-directional remote start is: 9C3Z-19G364-A it does come with 1 remote...I did order an additional remote online part number: 9G1Z-15K601-A-F509, it was $40.00. I tested the distance on the remote today. So I park roughly about 0.2 miles away from my desk, or just over the 2000' that is advertised and it worked just fine. I did go a little farther and it didn't work, so the 2000' seems to be its limits, which is plenty far for me. So far so good, I really like the remote...like I said, you have to carry around another fob, but it doesnt bother me really, my keychain is cluttered anyway and I do like the indicator that flashes green letting you know the car got the signal. With the regular 1 button remote start I would never know if my car was started until I was in sight of it.
