Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Might be a phone thing then. I can't imagine any modern android phone not supporting the metadata over bluetooth though. iPhone is what I use and it definitely works with that. And there's plenty of guys on here with android that have it working as well. I'm not sure what specific models and versions though.

Is your phone running Kit Kat or Android L?

4.4.4 Kit kat. It's a Samsung galaxy S4, so a couple years old now since they're up to S6. Wife has an iphone 6+, so will try it with that.

THANK YOU FORD - Now I hope this isn't asking too much because you already solved 90% of the problem, but could you make a change that will allow it to revert back to the last application? The only thing i use for music is Pandora and it would be nice if I didn't have to keep finding it in the menu to select it. Otherwise, ill just accept this fix and move on with my life.

Thank you ford. No really, Thank you. This actually affects my decision on my next truck purchase. I give you a B- for effort. Yes it took you long enough and it isn't perfect but at least you did it and that I award you 3 stars for. Thank you.

So not ready to give up, I installed the update again and now I'm getting the song text while using Bluetooth. Yay!

I knew your phone could do it!

EDIT: Just realized you're the guy from the other thread with the same truck as me, only yours is way cooler. Your truck is awesome.

Thanks bud! I'm still stoked about finding it.

I did a double take on your username too.

New problem yesterday: Will connect via BT Audio, will show what is playing, and then no audio. Only a buzz. All apps. Phone works fine with/without headphones and on another BT device. Turning truck off and on wouldn't fix it. I was going to do the ol' battery disconnect this morning but now it's working again. Anyone seen this?

Yeah. It only happened once. Fixed it with a master reset.

I just updated Sync and it reverts back to Bluetooth without issue. Getting to go back to pandora might be your phone and nothing that sync can do. If pandora is the latest app used, it should start back up. If you're switching around to Facebook or other apps being the most recent used, that might be the problem. Opening pandora as you're walking up to your truck might be your solution.

Well Holy Moly....... I just did this update, and it shows the song and reverts to Bluetooth audio. Good job!

Now handling it better from the start would certainly have made more sense, but I am shocked at the about face / fix.
Thanks and kudo's to whoever realized this needed fixing.
