How do you sync it with your computer when you need to to add a movie or more songs instead of downloading them through the ipad? Do most people that have them in the dash have the cellular versions? If not you must have a dedicated wifi hotspot in car? What if you need to reset it if it freezes?
Did I miss something somewhere? iPad in the dash?

1. There's a connection in the glovebox for the computer and charging. I grab my laptop, jump in the passenger's seat and viola.
2. Mine's wifi, when I need the data I just hook up a personal hotspot via my iPhone.
3. You can use assistive touch to hard reset the iPad.

Hotspot or data plan, you're still paying an extra 20-40 bucks a month on your phone bill for that.

Not if your iPhone is jailbroke, and then you can use your phone to tether for free!

mines removable.. so it make most of that easy. but when im feeling lazy I can leave it in place and work on it. mines wifi only, with a dual xgps for navigation. no plan required, no hotspot required unless I want to browse the internet, then I can use my phone for free.. it never freezes, but u can reset it without taking it out like hardcore said! its the best interior mod for sure

from what I hear, the ac controls and the 4" screen are on one large circuit board, making them impossible to separate.. so the only option will be to lay it on top of the screen and buttons and mold it in but that would be one hell of a project!!

That is SO COOL! I have a standard XLT dash with a CD player. NO navigation screen. How much would this cost (minus cost of an iPad) to do?
