I need to disable it in the truck at work. There's no way I'm wearing a seatbelt while driving down a runway. The idiots working in the tower clear planes to land when we're driving on the runway. If a plane comes down the runway and my truck quits for some reason I'm running.

For the seatbelt - you can just unplug the connector under the driver seat. The vehicle will chime 3 times when you start and not after. Plus, the passenger will still be reminded.
For me, its an easy way to avoid the constant dinging when working the farm etc. I always wear my belt on the highway so that's not an issue for me, and I do like my passenger to be buckled up.
And if you are in a situation where you have to deal with safety *****, just reach under and reconnect the plug.

I don't want to unplug anything and have no issues with using my seat belt for it's intended purpose... The ignition ding would be very nice to eliminate.

Read your manual and follow the process, it's very easy to disable the ding.

i have a 2014 FX4 w/ the nav & command center. In the command center I can change a few key settings, like having ALL my doors unlock with a single press of the key fob unlock button ... and the auto lock / unlock of the doors when going from park to drive and back to park.
But the seatbelt minder is NOT in the command center. The Owner's Manual DOES have the procedures for disabling the seatbelt minder dinging ... and I did it myself the day I got my truck, and it worked on the first try. I only did the driver's seat. Procedure is same/same for passenger seat if I ever need to do it.
Long story short, if you are trying the procedure and not getting it to work, chances are you're either A) using the wrong procedure, or B) you're doing it wrong.
FYI: I had an 08 FX4 and i dont remember if the procedure for disabling the seatbelt minder and the auto lock/unlock of the doors was in the Owner's Manual or not ... but I did get the procedure for both and tried them ... and they both worked flawlessly the first time I tried them.
I'm just like most everyone else. I am a strong advocate of seatbelts, but I dont need a dinging bell telling me to wear it. Yes, i know that it SHOULD be worn at all times no matter what, but let's all use a little common sense and realize that not every single situation requires that a seatbelt be worn. Also, i REALLY do not want/need my doors locking and unlocking by themselves. They have this neat little thing called a "lock/unlock button" that's right there on my door panel ... and oddly enough, just touching it once on either side will lock and unlock all the doors in the truck. it's AMAZING!!!
