8000# tow report 4.6 3v
2010 CrewCab 4.6L 3V XLT
Today I hauled marble slabs, some tile on my flatbed trailer from Fort Lauderdale, Fa to Jacksonville, Fa.
Trailer 1500# (estimated)
A-Frame 650# (estimated)
Slabs 5135# (per packing ticket)
Tile 512# (per packing ticket)
Add in straps, extra jack, Me and misc stuff we are right around 8000 pounds
I was in a hurry so I drove about 75mph and my MPG was 13.5. Im sure if I was running around 65mph it would have been around 15 MPG. The truck did very well. Getting up to speed from a dead stop you know there is some weight back there. Once you get to cruising speed it's smooth sailing.
Drove down with just the trailer and A-Frame Monday and my MPG was 17 and drove about 70mph.
NOTE: I hate having to remember to turn on the sway control everything I turn my truck off.

Retired and loving it!
Just a couple of things:
-- Check the speed rating on the trailer tires. Many trailers are equipped with "ST" rated tires........safe up to 65 MPH.
-- Do we really have to set the sway control to "on" every time? I thought that you could set it to default on.........anyone?

No I have to go into the setup menu and turn it on. Other people are having the same problem as posted here https://www.f150forum.com/f38/traile...roblems-67386/
