Default driving thru river

Hey friends. I had a off road adventure today and I drive a 08 f150 5.4l 4x4 king ranch with 3.73 gears with 34in tires. I offroad all the time but first time driving through a river with rushing water at about 2ft max. Well anyways I know all the rules and crap but I was in a crew with 3 other f150s and no problems for them. My problem happen both time I drove through. Right dead in the middle my truck went into limp mode and no power. I press down on the gas but no high rpms or anything. Finally after about 30secs truck go back to normal and I take off at full speed. And truck is fine. I drove 200 miles since then. Please let me know what the issue is so I can address the problem. Thanks.

Theres some fuel control module near the tank that can get rusted out and let water in which shorts the sensor. I forget the name but ill see if i can look it up. Meanwhile get under your truck and look for rusted out stuff or exposed wires

^I think he's referring to the "Fuel Pump Driver Module" or FPDM and that is a very likely culprit. It's located on a crossmember above the spare tire.
This is what it looks like.

These are known to corrode on our trucks and go bad especially when water hits them.

As far as I know it's easy to replace. I haven't had to do mine yet.

This thread might be able to help you out a little more.
And with it being electrical it could be a hit or miss problem. It might start acting up the next time you drive in heavy rain or it might bite the dust just sitting in your driveway on a sunny day.

Check your abs module. It near the front of the drivers side under the hood. If you had water at your bumper it could have gotten water in the connection. It has 6 brake lines i think going to it. When mine was acting up it would go.into limp mode.. but the connector is right there at bumper level and could have easily gotten.water in there. Sorry redponding on my phone. Excuse punctuation.

it's really a different feeling to drive on the river. But I am worried when I remember "Final Destination" Movie Series.
