Sony Is Officially Gone!
Been toying around with my 2012 SCREW Sony system. First I added two Sound Ordnance powered subs, very worthwhile. Here's that install:

Next I changed out the door speakers. Went with JBL Power series. Couldn't be more pleased with the sound from these things. Here's that one:

Now I officially took the big step. Added an Audiocontrol LCQ-1 and a four channel Alpine amp for the doors. All I can say is wow. The LCQ-1 takes the factory signal, sums everything internally, flattens the signal, then outputs serious preamp voltage to the Alpine. All this while adding EQ bands for each channel. Still have a bit of tuning to do but so far I am more than impressed.
Downside - as of now I had to remove one of my powered subs. I need to move the rear sliding glass motor then I can add it back. Under the back seat would work fine but that's not an option. I love having my floor empty and ZERO signs that a "system" exists.
Here is the amp board. I'll go back and carpet it now that I know everything is good to go.
Amp board mounted:
Sub back in, amp board done, carpet put back:
Both seats remained fully functional. Both raise, lower, and lock in the up position with no rubbing against components whatsoever. Pretty pumped about that seeing as there is VERY little room back there.
Hope everyone approves. Worked my a** off on this over the past few weeks. Nothing like cranking the truck and hearing the reward.

Nice setup! I like that you actually gain floor space by removing the factory sub. I'm a proud new owner of a 2012 FX4 Screw and would like to upgrade the sound system, it's the only disappointing part of the truck (it's not terrible, but could be much better). I really like your setup here.

Thanks! I'm really itching to put subs on the floor but the space gained keeps reminding me not to. Everything sounds like I'm at a concert but he low end could use a little more punch. Overall very pleased though.

Very cool! Have you modified anything on the factory nav/stereo unit? My uncle has a 2012 F-150 and he can't stand the sound quality of the SiriusXM (the compression is terrible and sounds like crap). Have what you done improved your satellite sound (i.e. being able to compensate with enhanced EQ)?

Its funny how a crappy sound quality song sound fine when the stereo was stock but now when everything has been upgraded that same song is unbearable because of the ****ty songs quality.
