Default $500 budget amp/sub setup

Hi, I'm looking to level up my sound in my '07 regcab f150 but I want to keep my stock AM/FM/1CD/SIRUS HU and not spend more than $500. I listen to a wide range of music from classical and folk to indie rock and gangster rap. Although lately I've been listening to nothing but gangsta rap and Sirus Shade45. I want to get the best sound within my budget. Any recommendations or advice is much appreciated. This is what I've come up with:

Kicker 10TC10 Comp 10” 300W 2-Ohm Car Audio Subwoofer w/ Slim Enclosure TC10
Unit Price: $104.95

Kicker Zx300.1 300 Watt RMS Mono Block Car Audio Amplifier Amp 11ZX3001
Unit Price: $199.95

NEW DB LINK 4 GAUGE CAR AMPLIFIER WIRING KIT+AMP RCA
Unit Price: $40.95

Boss Audio B65N High/Low Level Converter with RCA Input Sensitivity Control
Unit Price: $13.95

Sub Total:$359.80

Then I'll probably have the certified technicians at Best Buy install it for $99 and get that lifetime guarantee. I'm I missing anything?

I'm not sure about that LOC. I don't want to cheap out on the LOC and have problems later on. Seems like the popular one to use is the LOC from PAC since there's no splicing/soldering required with that one but is that the only benefit?

Sub - $169

Amp - $149

Wiring kit - $35

I have 2 of the Alpine type r 8's SoundStream 1000.1 amp with the Pac Audio (2011 Screw) and I like the way it sounds. But for $353 minus the line converter I think it's a better deal, just my .02

You can get the best amps/speakers and get garbage sound if fed a garbage signal. Spend some more time and money on getting a clean, quality signal to your amp. You won't regret it. Audiocontrol is a great starting point.

Well done. The lc2i will do an awesome job for your sub only upgrade. The added remote is nice too and offers tons of mounting flexibility. That's the piece I started with when I wanted to just beef up the subs. But a few pairs of Focals and some DSPs later I went full on system.

Good luck.

Kicker is offering 3 year warranty if using all Kicker and having everything installed with one of their authorized installers. I've read good reviews on their product quality and when I called them up with some questions, they were very helpful.

I'm wondering if I could do without the remote...

Is anything else needed for this install?

I just reviewed the stats on this setup and sounds like a lot of bang for your buck. I may go this route after some Alpine and Soundstream research.

Edit: So after studying more on speaker basics. I think I'll definitely go with this setup.

Edit #2: Doesn't look like onlinecarstereo.com is an authorized Alpine retailer.
