Default running speaker wire to 2011 F150

Ok. Why cant you run the speaker wire through the rubber door boot? And why did they put a plug in for the wires to the door. Does this mean I have to drill holes and install a second rubber boot to install speaker wire? Any suggestions?

If you have a boot you can run wires. If you have a molex connector you need to drill thru the plastic molex connector. Some had boots and some had molex.

Here's a walkthrough on going through molex's. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...TID~78731~PN~1

I decided to reuse the factory wiring and put my crossovers in the doors when I discovered mine. It's hit or miss whether they're in a truck depending on which plant it was built in.

I drilled a hole in my molex connectors and ran new wires.

That's odd. I have an 11 as well and that's what mine look like.

Curious to see a picture of yours

IIRC*, it depends on where your truck was made. KC just has the rubber boot, Detroit has the molex.

(* = as always, I could be completely full of crap)

That's why I'm confused, if he has the rubber boot he's good to go!

If I'm interpreting him right, he has a different style Molex??? I didn't know there was another one.
