Nice thread. I'm really liking the setup. What is the difference between the 570, 600, and 890? I'm trying to find info on Kenwoods website but they still show their 2012 products...
Also, does anyone know if you can tap into the factory rear view camera that goes to the mirror and use it with the kenwood unit?
Thanks

Well I installed a Kenwood DNX890HD and the Maestro RR module in my 2012 and after almost 2 weeks I gotta say I love it. The Kenwood unit sounds way better than the factory unit, and in dash navigation and integrated sat radio is the way to go. Nothing suction cupped to your windshield. The start up is a little slow but that's the nature of the beast with these types of units. After start up the interface is fast and smooth. This is a really nice unit.
I upgraded from the Kenwood DNX9990HD so I could use the new Maestro module that's out. Installation was very easy. I would recommend the optional installation harness for the Maestro as there is a whole lot less soldering that you have to do with it. Just solder the stereo connectors to the harness, pin in two wires to the back of the OBD diagnostic connector. Flash the Maestro module from the ADS web page so it knows what vehicle and stereo you have and the rest is plug and play.
With the 2013 Kenwood units you can have both the Maestro and the sat radio tuner connected at the same time. So now I have Sync and sat radio on the Kenwood unit. With the DNX9990HD it was one or the other. I had the sat radio hooked up so no Sync. Sync works perfectly with this. The info from Sync displays on the Kenwood screen as well as on the factory display above it. The sat radio info displays on the factory display as well.
The Maestro also interfaces with your truck through the two wires that you pin into the OBD connector wires. This allows it to show you all sorts of info with a gauge screen and a vehicle info screen. Here is the My F150 menu screen. I have the manual climate controls and no park assist (I don't think the latter is even an option in the F150 but I could be wrong) so the Climate and Park Assist screens don't work in my truck.
Here is the gauges screen. I have mine set up to show intake temp, exhaust gas temp, acceleration, voltage, and mass air flow info. There is a whole list of info that you can choose to display.
Here is the vehicle info screen. (I know, my tire pressures are showing they need adjustment It's fixed now.)
This, in my opinion, is a great set up. The Kenwood DNX9990HD was a great unit but I did miss the Sync. And the way everything interfaces with the truck to show the gauges, tire pressures, etc. is really cool. The customer service I have received from ADS is awesome as well. These guys are top drawer. If your thinking of upgrading from the factory audio I would suggest you have a look at the Kenwood/Maestro set up.
My wife says I shouldn't get so excited about my "toys" as she calls them. Women! Sheesh. Of course I should be excited. This thing is cool. And none of my buddies have anything like this in their trucks yet. (Insert evil laugh here)

Well I pulled the trigger on the Kenwood DNX890HD, the maestro RR and the harness. Did the maestro come with the harness for the obd? What did you do for xm? what did you buy? Also is it possible for you to post a video interacting with the Kenwood DNX890HD? I am interested to see what it looks like specially phone calls! thanks in advanced.
For the XM I bought the SiriusXM SXV200 tuner. It plugs right into the back of the Kenwood unit and you can plug the factory sat radio antenna into it.
As for the video, I'll see if I can figure out how to do that this weekend. No promises though, I've never done that before.

Whats a setup like this worth ? I have a 12 XLT XTR with convenience package with I think base radio and satelite and sync. How hard for an average Joe to install ?

You can get the Kenwood DNX890HD for $1,200 and the Maestro for $180 + $30 for the optional harness (I highly recommend this). You shouldn't have any problem with the install at all. The hardest part is soldering the wires.
