Got a plan. I already have the power/ground dist blocks in place and have the room, so, I am just going to add another Alpine 50x4. When both are bridged this will give me 150x4 and should make the Focals purr.

Sounds like it could work... but class D's(MRP 500's) bridged aren't going to have the best SQ. The S/N ratio will be anything but ideal. However, I assume its a quicker (cheaper) alternative to replacing your existing one.

I am not sure where you are buying the new M500, but the price difference for a more powerful class AB is not that great. I think you would have better performance from a 70-100 watt 4-channel AB amp. I would think this would give you quite a bit more clarity and the "punch" you are looking for.

No the MRP-M500 powers my subs. The MRP-F300 powers my doors. It's an AB 50x4 or 150x2. I am getting another F300. It actually performs very very well it just doesn't have quite enough wattage for me per channel. Alpine has a 150x4 but it's $600+. If I bought a new four channel amp Id be stuck with a spare F300 that I'd be lucky to sell for $100. It's worth more than that to me. Hope that is a little clearer. But I agree with what you were saying about the M500, not only a noisy D but hell it's mono.

Also this gives me a way to bi-amp my components if I ever feel frisky!
