Default Installed db571 today...problem.

So I installed the Polk db571 today. Found something strange and thought I'd ask here. I just bought a '11 SCab and when I took off the driverside rear door panel, there was quite a bit of water splashed around. As in, it was on the speaker itself, along with the wires. So I put the stock speaker back in for the time being.

Is this an issue with the '11's and do I need to call the dealer and set an appointment? This cannot be normal can it?

I have a 10 Scab and did not have problems with water in doors. I would ask the dealer about it.

You may also want to ask this question in the 09 and up forum as you will get more response.

Also, you really need to slam those rear doors, if not they will not seal and you will get water in the cab. My daughter did not close it good enough( still looked closed) and the next morning found water.

Could be your problem but who knows.

I am not sure if it's normal, but I saw water in all four doors when I changed the speakers on my '11. Not on the speakers, but I can see it on the wall when I took off the oem speakers. I think the water got in from the window seal.

Some water will run down the window inside the doors. That is why there are drain holes in the bottom.

Thanks for the responses. Maybe I didn't close it hard enough as it was only the one window. I took the panel back off and it didn't seem to have been as bad. I'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks again.
