And after the install, everything works great in a '14. Question on the brake override, that just gets me the ability to play videos while, driving, correct?

Also, is there a way to get the clock to be on the 2 line readout screen? Probably not after removing the main unit, but just curious to see if anyone else has done anything.

Default Same question about Kicker Soundstage w/ Advent

Jken, did you ever get an answer? I'm thinking of installing the kicker soundstage kit or some polks like some of the guys here also.

Still like my advent after a few years but want to upgrade the rest of the system now.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I don't see where it would be a problem considering the Kicker uses the factory wiring. The full kit includes a DSP unit to improve the sound of the factory HU and the door speakers. It shouldn't hurt the Advent at all.

Default Upgrades?

Does anyone know how to upgrade the unit's software and the navigation maps and change the splash screen?

To upgrade the software or change the splash screen, contact ADC Mobile. To update the maps go to naviextras.com

Has anyone else had sound issues? Not sure if this is just normal but to sound decent I have to put all the EQ all the way up. For instance, if I use the preset classical/pop/flat I can't hear it until I hit 50 on the volume. Even with the EQ all the way the radio isn't loud enough till 24 and XM I have to put at 30 to hear it well. Just seems odd to have that many clicks before volume. Loudness is on too.

I enjoy the unit overall but the sound is frustrating. Is anyone else having to go that high on the volume?

I don't have any issues like that. Mine is set to come on at 20 and can hear it just fine.

I also don't have any issues with the volume. I use custom EQ's on my Advent and have the volume set to 25 when it turns on. Usually I am good with the radio around 30 but XM seems to be a bit quieter and needs to be at 38 to 40. My guess is the XM issue is the tuner and not with the Advent unit itself.
