That said, having tow power isn't a bad thing in case I ever need it. I have been told the 5.0L get's better fuel economy around town, which naturally is the bulk of my driving but if it's a matter of a couple MPG that doesn't worry me too much. Would it be safe to say the Ecoboost does better on fuel when it comes to highway driving? I think I'll certainly have to take one for a test drive and see. The 5.0 does not get better MPGs either way. You can make the EB get worse by how you drive it. Around town the 5.0 and the EB will get about the same. There are a few exceptions out there and someone may say their EB gets horrible MPG but the majority is about the same as the 5.0. Drive a EB normal and it will get what the 5.0 gets, put your foot in it and it will get what the 6.2 gets (or worse), MPG and power speaking. I think the EB is 1 or 2 MPG better highway. I'm getting between 17.5 & 18.5 out of my EB and that's in a FX4 Screw w/3.55. Oh and that's another thing, pay attention to your diff ratio when you make your choice. That plays a role in MPGs
