Default Hello, new to the forum and have a ?

I have a 95 F-150 and electric mirrors, door locks and dome/cargo lights dont work. They are all on the same circuit and the fuse is good...any ideas?

a 31 code only comes attached to a fault code a 31 means that all impact sensors are open. A 51 means that a thermal fuse has blown due to a intermittent short to ground. The air bag diagnostic monitor contains an internal thermal fuse that is not serviceable. The thermal fuse is controlled by a computer inside the air bag diagnostic monitor. The computer will blow the thermal fuse whenever a short on the deployment circuits occurs. The thermal fuse does not blow because of excessive current flowing through it.NOTEO NOT install a new air bag diagnostic monitor until the short has been located and corrected. If a short to ground has not been located and corrected, then the short to ground is intermittent and IS NOT PRESENT AT THIS TIME. Installing a new air bag diagnostic monitor with an intermittent short in the system will result in blown air bag diagnostic monitors and repeat repairs. A intermittent problem can result from a malfunctioning clock spring, or a pinched wiring loom.

Depending on your year of taurus, the 93-97 has a problem with the impact sensor on the core support. It has 4 bolts holding it to the radiator support, disconnect the battery and remove the 4 bolts clean off all the rust and reconnect the sensor. This is common on other years too. I think all of the rain/snow gets in between there and starts the trouble.

All this started the other day when I turned my wheel and the horn blew and wouldnt stop, so I disconnected the horn and kept on working. I appreciate your quick response and for insight. Thank you.

sounds like the clock spring, not too hard to replace. Im not sure on the cost though. So get a new clock spring and a replacement unit from the yard.

OK, I'm old enough and dumb enough, what is a clock spring? Am at your feet, lay it on me.
