Just a word to say how great the threads and post are on this forum.

I'm somewhat of an outsider by owning a 92 E150 5.0L beater work van that I bought for a Kbuck to move from Evanston, IL to Racine, WI so I could be closer to my grandkids. Love the truck(van). A real horse. Only get 15mpg. Looking for better, much better if possible. That's why I'm here.

At 75, I've had many vehicles, loved em all, even the Model A pickup I drove as a kid on our farm. My Dad taught me to drive on ice by giving me the wheel on a frozen pond one cold winter in the early 40's. He said spin around as much as you like but don't hit the shore. It was a small pond and the shore was hard to miss but I learned a lot about exiting from a skid and I did not hit the shore.

Welcome to the board!

Afraid you won't do too much better on the mpg's tho. They are bricks on wheels, not hybrids afterall.

Welcome to the site.. Get a K&N air filter. That will help a little bit. IT will also last a million miles with regular cleaning. In the long run its cheaper than replacing paper filters all the time.
