I use the Collinite on glass, rubber, plastic when I polish the truck. It may not be the best material for other than paint but it goes on and off so easy - and provides some protection, so why not....
No off color residue after it is wiped off.

I love Collinite but find the same issue on white. Wish it were a different color. Wonder if it would effect the product to put a drop or 2 of food coloring in it?

Thats a good idea. Probably be best to ask on the Autogeek forums or even email the company. I think I may do that.

Using a clay bar is no worse than waxing itself. Some will say the nanoskin products are faster but I don't feel like spending that much on it. Pulling the embedded crap out of the clear coat and getting a wax or sealant in there will only help. Even a new vehicle will bennefit.

I would even go as far as saying with any of the new synthetic wax/sealants out there or the tried and true collinite it's better than buffing out turtle wax until your arm falls off. Wipe on, wipe off.

My wife has a white car and it has little rust spots all over it from fallout. This spring it and my truck will be getting iron-x added to their details.

I have been using Star Brite Premium Marine Polish with PTEF on my boats & Cars for about 4 yrs, and now the new truck has 2 coats. Its great stuff, good UV protection, a little more work removing than some other waxes if you use too much or polish in the hot sun, a very thin layer is all that's needed, leaves a super slippery surface from the polymers. I have both the squeeze bottle and the conventional wax type container, prefer the squeeze bottle.

So I went ahead and bought some Collinite 845 after reading so many posts about it. I have had my truck right about a month, but it spent a few days in the shop after getting backed into. This was the first chance I had to really clean it up.

Now, I have generally kept my cars clean, but not to this level... but I love this truck. It is by far the nicest truck I have owned, and figured it was worth it. Besides, it helps that my daughter wanted to hang out in the yard and help wash it with me.

We started with a good two bucket wash using Meguilar's Gold, then went to work with the clay bar. This one took a good while, but it was worth it. It's nice and smooth now. I then went ahead and applied the Collinite. This stuff is remarkable. It really takes just a bit, and is super easy to apply. I went ahead and got the windshield as well.

We finished up by washing windows and such and shining up the tires. I think it looks pretty good for my first attempt at really going after it. I do need to do some looking as to what is best to shine chrome with.

Have you tried the collinite on the chrome? I think you'll be happy with it.
