Hmmm, to be fair, Ford`s hands are not completely clean here. The bailout was a loan that the other automakers got & paid back. Ford still owes on their loan:

Don't bring up all this bailout money stuff again, it is totally irrelevant. Yes, GM was bailed out recently with by the US government backed by a loan from the Government of China. But then again Ford 3 years prior was bailed out ( given low cost lost to stay alive) from the Government of Germany at the request of the US government . So it's all the same. Bailouts happen and they happen to all sides. Just let it go already and move on. It has nothing to do with the price of vehicles.

My point being is that article is not up to date. If Ford still owes on the $5.9 Billion NON-bailout loan it took (at 0.25% interest), how much is it? Yes they took tax-payer money but Ford's loan was not under bail-out conditions. Ford would have been foolish to pass up terms like that. The other automakers repaid their loans as fast as they possibly could since GM was being run by the Feds and Chrysler/Fiat's loan terms stated so.

That's because ur looking to buy a Ford. I wouldn't pay a single dime of my money for any Dodge product, and as far as Chevy goes, it would have to be such a sweet deal that even the dumbest of dumb people wouldn't pass up. Ford is all I'll ever own, and yes it is because it's the last American built pickup. Regardless if they use parts made in other countries, the F150 is assembled in Kansas City, MO. The Chevy or GMC is in Canada, and the new "Dodge" or Ram truck or whatever u want to call that piece of crap is made in Mexico, so I damn sure wouldn't buy that.

From what I've seen around here, they are pretty comparable in prices. Earlier this year, my friend looked at a few new Chevys and the dealer had zero discounts or incentives while Ford was offering almost 10k off most trucks without even asking for it.
i don't know if we missed something but we walked when the salesman at Chevy said the Msrp price is what we get.

Just out of curiosity, what motor are you looking at? If you're looking at the ecoboost engine, that's a pretty steep additional cost.
They be also marking up the cost for the aluminum body. Just a thought...
