I just love the Ruby Red Metallic! I've been lusting over that color for many years, and I've finally done something about it. Here's my '13 FX4 the day I brought it home last month: (Still has the dealer plates on it...)
It's still basically bone stock, but that will change over time. So far, the only mods have been to make it towable behind the motorhome:
Man, I just love that color!
I've got a ton of initial mods in the barn waiting for me to have time to put them on: power tailgate lock, DeeZee tailgate assist, BedRug, tonneau cover, wheel liners, mudflaps. Wheels and tires will be coming eventually. And I just read about the Door Detent 3.0 - got to get that asap! And I'm getting lots more ideas around here, talk about an expensive forum!
So many mods, so little time... (and money!)
PS: Did I mention I love that color?

Thanks! No miles rack up on the odometer when being towed. But of course, there is still wear on the tires, wheel bearings, differentials, and suspension. So I do track the towed miles on a spreadsheet, and base my tire/diff/transfer case maintenance intervals with that in mind, not just the odometer.
I towed my last truck about 3,000 miles a year (we don't take it on every trip.) I'm currently on my second trip with the new truck, on a couple unusually long trips. So at this point I've towed it 1,500 miles, and there's only 1,400 miles on the odometer -- a rare occurrence to have more tow than driven miles; that won't last long.
For the curious, I've detailed the tow conversion process in this thread.
BTW, did I mention I love the Ruby Red?
