Default why is MOTORCRAFT synthetic blend oil so inexpensive?

Average price around here is ~$2.77 a quart. Similar oils from Valvoline, Castrol, Mobil, Quaker State, etc are at least a dollar a quart higher.

I'm not complaining, just curious.

Default Cheap Base:

Cheaper because it's a blend....maybe 10% synthetic base stock.

I appreciate it. It seems like a good quality oil and is an awesome price. I use the 5k change interval and it still looks good after 5k. When I am in the USA I pick some up because the oil here in Mexico is like $6 a quart. I am glad I am not using synthetic any more. Mobil 1 is $16 a quart.

Holy S*it!! $16 a quart is out of control. If you think about it, you could make some great money by starting an oil smuggling operation.

The other companies' blends are higher, about a buck a quart.
Makes me wonder if the MOTORCRAFT oil is any good, frankly.

Motorcraft is Conoco and as far as the blend who knows. To call any oil a blend it just has to have another part...no specific percentage.
Shell oils are high priced because thats just shell..IE Pennzoil, Q.S. and Formula Shell.
it all meets the same standards and does the same thing.

Hey, Ford recommends it so I am using it....I was just used to paying a lot more for my oils of choice, typically CASTROL or VALVOLINE.

I use it too & have since 1999 w/my first truck. I figured Ford can't complain during the warranty period if I'm using their oil.
