but if you're gonna keep the truck 6-8 more years, might as well get what you want and get the other toys later.
No what I meant is that I can't spend more than 7-8k, but that was money set aside specifically for this, it's not like I'm spending my rent or anything.

I think I'm really leaning towards getting a truck. But not necessarily the FX4. Now my head is full of Raptors, Lariats, and Platinums as well. Maybe even going to a 250....

My post was aimed at nobody in particular. It is really great to see so many people getting into newer trucks. It means this sucky economy maybe is finally turning around. I just hate to see anyone get into a truck with 80 months of payments, when they can't even afford to pay the rent.
By the way Great job paying cash. My wife (mom of 3 adult boys) says "GREAT JOB!" lol

FX4, Raptors, Lariats, Platinums, 250s, King Ranch....Sounds like it's something about a F-150 that blows your mind and make it hard to decide which one. I can't explain it, Can't put my finger on it, Can't even describe it. Its just something. A Damn good something! Ahhh...F-150 Sex appeal and Endless Love.
Go to the dealership, get a truck book, tear out the page with pictures with each one, then close your eyes and pick one. Any one you pick, you will be happy with.

The economy has been improving fairly well, at least in the auto industry.

Tell her I say thank you! I'm just a young little ****, still in college. But I've worked my *** off for my parents all through my life. We are building a little rental property empire, so I've done construction/property management/accounting/evictions/inspections on 15+ properties since I was in 7th grade. My parents have been living out of country for the last ~3 years so that all falls on me now. Made enough $$$ to buy into some of the properties my dad purchased so I also have a steady stream of rental income. Parents pay for college but I work my *** off there too. I only pay for my rent and expenses, and whatever I make over that each month goes mostly into a savings account, and the rest goes to the truck fund. And that's how I'm sitting with another $8k in my pocket.

Another option is a Jeep JKU
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

A rack for $1,300, small lift, bit bigger tires, and some bike mounts should put me at just about the same as the truck... Maybe. I really wanted a Jeep... But a truck is so much more practical (compared to a Wrangler everything but a limo is more practical) Ugh, now I've gotta sit back and do a little bit of thinking. Thanks for the help everybody... now it's up to me.

I find it pretty easy to choose myself when I play on the build website (often) ..Weighing which model has more features and choosing from there. For me it's either an FX4 or Platinum in black or white paint, 3.5l or 5.0l.

So my final top two. Assuming I can get both at the same price, which would you guys go for? Just gimme your personal opinions, I'm curious. Is there much of a drivetrain difference between the Plat and the FX4?

Ruby platinum

It seems as though 4x4 was something you wanted and the platinum is RWD.

There's plenty of identical 4WD's around me, I just pulled a random Ruby Plat off the website as an example. I would deff be getting the 4WD Plat.
