HELP! Am I crazy? Trading from '12 FX2 to '13 FX4? Both loaded.
Ok so I need some advice. I've had my 2012 FX2 EcoScrew loaded Appearance Package in Sterling Grey for about 4 months now. I paid just over $31,000 for mine LOADED and it has about 13k miles. I love my truck, it is awesome. Everything I've ever wanted, except it's 2WD, and it is not Ruby Red.
So I'm cruising along and notice the local dealer has a 2013 Ruby Red FX4 on their lot, so I stop and check it out. And then the lightbulb appears. I wonder how much I can get for my truck. Well I go inside and tell the guy I'm interested in trading up to an FX4. His eyes light up and starts shooting numbers at me. Long story short they are going to give me $33,500 for my truck (more than I paid!!!) and will knock a huge chunk off the sticker for the '13. MSRP was right at $50k and he will bring it down to where out the door I'm only spending about $7,000 on a brand new equally loaded EcoScrew. I plan on getting that number even lower but even at that it would be almost $10k off MSRP.
What do you guys think? My truck was paid in cash so I'm not having to mess with financing of any kind. I really would like to have a 4WD, in love with Ruby Red, want the newer Sync, and the OEM HID's and I'm getting kind of tired of the FX Appearance Package..... Was cool at first but now..... Black dash pieces don't stay clean for more than 3 seconds..... Vinyl decals on side need to be scrubbed to get any road grime off.... Am I crazy or is anyone else behind me on this? Haven't given the dealer the yes or no on this yet, but they are eager to sell.
Of course, those whose opinion I wholeheartedly trust, please give me your honest input.

My beautiful truck as it sits right now.
And the Ruby Red FX4 I'd love to have...
Some photos I hijacked from some other forum members of identical trucks, because most dealerships can't take pics for crap.

I like the Ruby Red FX4 much more. Sounds to me like you have a good deal started. Go for it and enjoy.

I was trying to think what else I could do with that $7-8k. All I could come up with was a nice mint 2002 BMW 330 convertible with factory M body kit for $7,000, a mint 1999 Lifted Wrangler with great paint and new soft top for $7,000, two mint 2005 SeaDoo GTX's for $6,500, or a mint 2012 Rockwood 2280 popup camper. Or maybe a 2010 BMW K1200R with just under 3k miles for $9,000. Not sure which I'll enjoy the most.

Well that changes the whole ball game! I guess the question you need to ask yourself is, how soon can you save up another $7k for more toys AFTER you pick up the new truck..

First, thanks for asking for my opinion.
I would say, if they have the numbers where you want them, then pull the trigger on the deal and do it. You only live once, so enjoy life. Especially if money isn't an issue and by doing it does not effect anything. You might as well get what you truly want and what's going to make you happy. I like them both. Both are gorgeous. As Nike would say, "Just Do It". Do it with no regrets, buyers remorse, etc.
I'm happy for you and I'm congratulating you in advance. Now go get it and post pictures and tag me on it so I can see...ha ha ha.

If you wanted those users opinions PM them. Other than that who cares what you do. Do whatever you want. It's a good deal if you're asking that. Was quoted 37/38000 for 2013 fx4 here in dallas texas, depending on what options. So your deal sounds good

I prefer your color and grille but the stance and MFT system in the FX4 is much better than the '12 you have now. Just knowing that you'll be getting more than you paid is enough for me to say...
YES!

I like your current truck more to be honest, why not wait for the 2015 model, it is only one year. I'd bet it has more power stock to. Any way you go though, you can't go wrong if it makes you happy.
