Question Help!

I'm having a weird issue with my 1989 Ford F150 5.0 (v8) EFI manual converted to auto. (it's a clients) i'm guessing a bad ground, but here's my issues...

First, i got the truck, with no spark. Replaced ignition coil and ignition module...bright orange spark...replaced cap and rotor. now i have bright blue spark. 43psi in rail, gas on spark plugs...i get flames coming out of the intake...BUT will not start...i'm at a lost...there is how ever wires going to NO WHERE. lol. drives me nuts. but it ran like that for a while, lke a year. i'm at a lost here guys and this is my last hope. I'm an amateur mechanic. I'm good at it, i flip cars, but this is beyond me. I've read alot searching that it could be a bad ground to the computer, i regrounded the intake to the firewall. put a new battery in. Can someone please help me out here.

Hey amateur, step one is pull codes. By the way, fire out the intake isn't normal. Timing.

Had a little Single cylinder honda with fire out the intake. It was carbon particle stuck in the valve. Not a big job to clean it in a one cylinder.

Yes you can pull codes, it's under the hood.

Issue has been fixed. Owners were unaware the motor was replaced so the firing order that's on the airfilter box wasnt correct. changed that and it fired right up. Thanks for the thoughts guys. much appreciated.

My first real job, in a dynamometer test lab, one of their "mechanics" often got the distributor back in 180 degrees off: many blasts of fire ensued from the carb! imp
