Default Crankcase flushing, oil and fuel additives

What is the official Ford recommendation on crankcase flushing, coolant, fuel and oil additives? I know the manual says to not use any additives. Today I was having my truck serviced at the local dealer and I overheard him recommend crankcase flushing to four customers while I was waiting. They were saying that with the ethanol in today's fuel there is a buildup of contaminants in the crankcase.
Sounds like a marketing tactic to me. Maybe the Ford Customer Service rep can respond.

It is a way to get fools to give service departments more money as are the "recommended services" that far exceed the manual.

Given that ethanol has a lower flash point than oil, it won't stay in solution for long and more than likely make its way to/thru the PCV system.

Crankcase flushing went-out when detergent oils came about.

Last time I did an engine flush was a 73 Plymouth with low oil pressure.
