FREE SIRIUS radio

If the next vehicle I buy has a Sirius radio I may just try it. I so seldom listen to the radio (when I'm driving seems like the only time I can enjoy peace and quiet) that I could easily go for a year without using it.

Is there a link for supporting evidence?

Well, it was some time ago when he told me this - at least a year or two. Since you asked, I googled about free Sirius radio, and I see some talk on the 'net where there may have been a bug that this technique exploited, but it seems that Sirius may have fixed it. So maybe what I posted is no longer valid.

I will be doing this with my good portable once my paid sub is done.

For it to work, I'm pretty sure your Sirius antenna needs to be disconnected as the radio is always powered up. I have an old portable with a broken screen that has a "free" sub. After reading online that if you don't power up the unit, it can't get the "kill" signal I gave it a try. Mine was unused for nearly 2 years though.

sweet effin deal man!!!!
now, once this month is up, i'll disconnect the antenna... the gf loves the highway station, and she know's its running.
but, i do have access to a portable one that hasn't seen power for close to a year.
this is a must try for later.
btw, how's the weather out there... used to live in kamloops myself

When I bought my truck in march I chatted online with Sirius and they told me I had a 15 month subscription! I hope so! I didn't give them any credit card info so they can't screw me around and I saved the chat log so I can burn them if they try to disconnect service after the 6 months is up.

good man! we pay enough for our rides as it is... if we get a chance to squeeze a few drops back into our pockets... then so be it right?

I like what Sirius has to offer and would be all over a subscription if the audio quality actually sounded like a CD or at least a 128 bit MP3. I'm on the free demo thing now and switching back and forth from Sirius to my thumb drive is like night and day.
