Cold Air Intake
I'm considering a cold air intake but would like to get some first hand accounts about any increase in gas mileage or slight increases in horsepower. My main reason for the cold air would be the increased gas mileage considering the horsepower increase is nominal (please correct the last part of the statement if it is incorrect). Any information from someone with experience with a cold air intake and an increase in mpg/horsepower would be very appreciated.
Note: I'm really looking for first-hand accounts and not a link to a website.
Thanks.

You also didnt tell us what you are thinking of putting a CAI on? What kind of truck do you have? Other mods? The Gotts Mod is something you will for sure hear about. I have read that it gives 7 hp (which I am 99% sure was tested on a dyno according to one of the threads) (thats on the 5.4L pre-2011 models)

I'm a little new to the website to say the least and I thought that my truck would show up under my name on the thread. I have a 2006 FX4 5.4 (it's the supercrew cab). I agree the search bar is very helpful but nothing I found was what I needed. So to clarify, I'm looking for someone with a similar truck (or the exact one if its not too much to ask) who has installed a cold air and can give some real feedback.

If your looking for gas mileage for a CAI alone forget it...spend your money elsewhere. They will work very well in conjuction with other mods...like a good exhuast and tunner.
