It could also be a dirty blue wire with black electrical tape on it. Mine has 4 wires connected to that post three hots to the harness and the hot from the + on the battery. Is there anything in your truck wired to be on at all times (ie: CB radio) if there is double check they are turned off.

"Re-wired" the ignition module socket (connector i spoke of before) and no change. Things seem to happen randomly. Sometimes the truck tries to start and sometimes it doesnt, under the same circumstances.

I will post some pics when i get a chance.

minus the missing nuts, this is how i bought it. the weird thing is when i test the middle ignition wire, i get almost no power, but when i test the stud beside it - you know, the one without any wire attached to it and blocked off with additional nuts? - there's almost as much power going through that as through the whole battery. would all this be explained by a simple misplacement of a wire? if so, wouldnt moving the wire to an active current mean the car will always try to to turn over?

i put the negative cable back on, and as soon as i removed the red central ignition wire to move it over to the other stud, the truck tried to turn over. so is that bad solenoid or bad ignition wire/actuator?
