Default Need info. for a 1984 F150....

Hi everyone. I'm new to your forum but I'm sure I'll be needing help or contributing in that I'm currently in the process of buying a 1984 F150.
I haven't owned a Ford truck in a while and I have some questions about this model. It is a six cylinder...what cu. inch sizes were offerred then? I also need to know if the engines were fuel injected or carburated? AND, because in MO., the vehicle has to pass an inspection to get licensed, does the 84' six cylinders also have a computer that retards, advances etc. timing?
One last question: did these trucks have any inherent poblems that I should be aware of?
Thanks for your assistance head of time

I also need to know if the engines were fuel injected or carburated? Carburated AND, because in MO., the vehicle has to pass an inspection to get licensed, does the 84' six cylinders also have a computer that retards, advances etc. timing? There is an ignition control module on the drivers inner fender. Its a 4 inchx4inch or so box with two wiring harness coming out of it.
One last question: did these trucks have any inherent poblems that I should be aware of? They drink alot of gas. The Carb prolly needs to be rebuilt..

I had a 84 f150 with the 300 six cylinder...There was a problem with the ignition modules which were mounted in the distributor itself, not on the fenderwell...went through several over the years. Also, if the truck is a standard transmission carefully check the firewall for cracks around the mounts for the hydraulic clutch cylinder...another common failure on this model.

Good Luck, BD.
