I have a leak in one fuel tank on a 1994 f150 with dual tanks. This appears to be leaking from the tank above the spare tire on the passenger side. Which filler neck feeds this tank? The one in front of the wheel opening or the one behind the wheel opening? I want to know which tank to fill and which to avoid till i get it fixed.

The front feeds the front and the rear feeds the rear. The tank above the spare is the rear.

The only problem with only using the one tank is any extra fuel is returned to the tank that you aren't using so your back tank will still be getting fuel put into it as the excess fuel that isn't burnt by the engine runs back. I just changed both the tanks in my 94 and the rear tank isn't that hard and there is a really nice post on the maintenance section about the fuel pump change... good luck if you change it yourself.

The fuel is pumped back to the tank it's pumped from unless there is a problem. If you're using the front tank and fuel is going back to the rear tank then the valve that prevents this is bad.

Agree with Sean, fuel vapor return is the the feeding tank.
