I bought a new 2012 platinum f150 4x4 4 door ecoboost off the showroom floor while bringing it back home on the 200 miles trip I noticed that I was only getting 6 mpg…the very next morning I call ford up and told them about the gas mileage….they informed my that that was normal, and for me to wait until it had 5000 miles on it, and if the mileage wasn’t any better to let them know…well after 5000 it had moved up to 11 mpg, and it has stayed there ever since…I have put it in the shop several times for this problem, and they tell me it’s getting what most of the trucks like mine get mileage wise, but I don’t believe that…my truck just turned 40,000 does anyone have any suggestions that might help other than trade it or burn it…I really like the truck except for the gas mileage.

You could try pulling the rotors off. Check to make sure the parking brakes are not dragging. Also can check to see if the front inboard pads move freely in the sliders or if they are seized. It might help a bit.
