Default 2005 ford f150 Spark Plugs and Ignition Coils

Hey guys,

I need some new spark plugs for the f150. I've got a 5.4l v8 engine. I found these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-NEW-Motorcraft-8-Spark-Plugs-SP515-Ford-5-4L-3V-Ford-Updated-Design-PZH14F-/171348092132?fits=Make%3AFord%7CModel%3AF-150
How should those be, and as for ignition coils... 8 of them, what have you guys been using?

Use OEM coils also, anything else is a step down.

Alright, so they're telling me I should just do all eight while I'm at it. Cylinder 6 isn't firing period right now, should I do all 8 or just 6?

I agree with JCR 56. Change all 8 of your coils at the same time using only OEM/Factory coils. Save a couple of the old ones as spares. The back ones are a bit difficult to get to but it's worth the effort. Be aware of all the hoses and wires around the work area. Very often things are disturbed or broken while you're working and you create extra work for yourself. The plugs you chose are fine. Try Amazon for these also. You just never know what they might carry. Good luck with your project.

Are we thinking something along these lines?

Also, while I'm at it is there anything I should change out for a truck with 210k on it? This engine only has 86k and a new timing system

Yes, those coils are fine. As far as the rest of the truck is concerned if you have NO service records, I would change at least the fuel filter and do all of the fluids. These would include the transmission oil and filter or gear oil if it's a manual trans, the rear end gear oil including the limited slip clutch modifier additive if it has a LS rear end (and front end if it's a 4x4) and radiator flush.

I just replaced the tranny and had the timing redone (minus the phasers). Do you have links for the fluids and all, I know enough about cars, but I'm learning! I've got a buddy that helps me with the work, but I order the parts!

The best way to be sure you get all the correct fluids is to take your Vin number and Google search an owners manual that will tell you the specifics of what you need. Sorry that's vague but there were a number of options for rear ends and w/o the specific tag number on the rear end, it's hard to tell. The owners manual will give you all the capacities and Ford numbers for everything.Things like power steering fluid and brake fluid can be standard brands off the shelf. BTW don't forget to change the radiator fluid. This should be done every 2 years at a minimum.
