XLT 302A Sun Visor Upgrade
Like many other XLT owners, I wish the XLT 302A Pkg would have included Illuminated Sun Visors (Vanity Mirrors) and the Universal Garage Door Opener. Unfortunately that isn't the case and the wiring for these sun visor options isn't already routed to the sun visor mounting location. Therefore the Lariat sun visor upgrade isn't plug-n-play.
Note: the 500A Lariat Trim Pkg only includes the Illuminated Sun Visors. The 501A/502A Lariat Trim Pkg and higher includes the Universal Garage Door Opener.
Some have added the Lariat Visors and chose to run additional wiring down the A-Pillar to obtain 12V (+) and ground (-). My hope & intent was to use the existing wiring that is already in the XLT 302A overhead console to power the new Lariat visors. After doing some research I believe not only is this possible, but the same circuits that power the visors in the Lariat trim level are readily available in the XLT 302A overhead console, both with or without the moonroof option.
In the attached wiring diagrams you can see both Lariat visors are powered by the CLN09 (YE-GN) 12V (+) power source and complete the circuit using the GD348 (BK-YE) wire for the ground (-). These are the same circuits that currently exist in the XLT 302A overhead console wiring - see pin #1 (GD348 - BK-YE) and pin #12 (CLN09 - YE-GN) of the overhead console C930 24 pin connector.
This indicates the power (+) and ground (-) source for the Lariat visors can be accessed at the XLT 302A overhead console without running additional wiring down the A-Pillar. More importantly, the sun visors will be using the same circuits that are already being used to power the visors in the Lariat 500A/501A/502A and higher trim pkgs.
Based on this information I have ordered the black driver's side sun visor (FL3Z-1504105-GG) which is illuminated and has the universal garage door opener, black passenger's side illuminated sun visor (FL3Z-1504104-EC) and (2) EU2Z-14S411-TA wiring pigtails. Parts will not arrive until the end of the week, so I am planning to install next weekend and will report back with the results once the installation has been validated.
I will be using Belden (NAPA) 785100 (Black) and 785104 (Yellow) AWG 20 wire to extend the OEM pigtail harnesses to the overhead console.

This would be a nice added feature, for the garage opener! Whats the cost for the 2 visors?

Prob should be a different thread, but might help someone in this one- I also wished my XLT visor had homelink too, but I didnt want to run wires so I replaced the rear view mirror with a Gentex framless dimming mirror with 3 homelink buttons - easily spliced and crimped to the existing mirror wires , looks and works very nice. hardest part was popping off the stock mirror without breaking the glue thats holding the mount to the windshield (youtube saved me). Ive got an entry gate and a garage and these buttons work better than any remote ive used before and won't work unless the truck is turned on. offically clicker free.
obviously a more economical option would be to buy the homelink module on ebay and install into your visor, but I didnt want to tear up my brand new headliner and visor too much and run wires blah blah blah. There are less expensive gentex models, if you fell out of your chair when you saw how much this one is, but very worth it to me.
