Who uses the keypad?
Honestly, the keypad has always seemed pretty stupid to me. That is, until today when I accidentally locked one of my kids in the truck with the keys. A couple of bashes with a hammer, and $300 bucks later, I'm going to go ahead and program that bad boy.

I use it all the time. I can't imagine not having it. Really useful in extreme cold/heat climates.

So what my salesman instructed me to do was to take a photo of the card that has the factory code on it and store it on your phone. If you have the phone, you have the code. If you locked the phone in the car the dealer can get the code as long its the factory setting.
Our Explorer has it and I use it pretty often. Left the factory code.

Worst hairday ever...
You can just add your own code, if you can't remember the factory code. Just make it something simple like the wife's b-day or anniversary. On second thought you want it to be something you'll remember so make it something else.

Throw a zero up front and use your debit card pin. I've been using that since I bought my '12 with the keypad. You'll never forget that pin!
