Default What make a Platinum a "Platinum" ?

Hi all,

I dont want to start a war between trim levels here... I just want to know...

For the Limited, the difference are quite obvious. If only the serial number uniqueness inside the cab for one. No other trim level have that.

My question is more between the Lariat and the Platinum.

As far as I know, a fully loaded Lariat is the same as a fully loaded Platinum.

Only physical difference I can see are the front grill, the tailgate "appliqué" and the standard rims.

So if I put these item on a Lariat does it transform the truck into a Platinum ?

Does the Platinum have any "trim exclusive" features ?

Wow if only that actually worked... I can't stand people that have nothing to say but "do a Google search". There's not any info on it that I could find. I asked my salesman when I bought my truck.

Now to help OP.

They've got "multi-contour" seats which is a fancy way of saying the front seats massage, and different interior. Aside from that you an get all the features in a Lariat. The main thing is the Platinum starts with a lot more of the add ons that are available for the Lariat package. I told the salesman on the spot "Why would anyone buy a platinum then if the only difference is truly just the seats?" He didn't have a good answer.

Literally the first link on Google said what you just did. So I stand by my recommendation.

Not much. Different color/style plastic wood panel inserts. Massaging seats. Front grill. And the full size brushed aluminum tailgate applique.

I don't know if the Lariat has these but I thought of this...

Rain Sensing Wipers,
Power Telescoping Steering Wheel
Leather is better quality

Lariat can have rain sensing wipers (mine does), along with the telescoping wheel. The leather is the same on all lariats though.
