If you don't buy it there will be someone else right behind you to it off their hands. In the end, you are really the only one who pays. Either by knowing you have a fixed brand new truck or you have to wait again, maybe longer, to get a new truck.
Knowing what automotive paints are like these days. I would consider a "proper" fix to last the life of the truck.

LONG TIME FORD GUY
Beautiful Truck. Too bad about the flaw. Probably a short inspector. If you are willing to wait reorder... But if it were me (I hate waiting) I'd have them fix it and go from there.

Sorry to hear about your truck. It's hard to walk from something you have been waiting for so long.
If it's not up to your expectations I would walk like you did. the dealership should take care of you though.

I had this problem a few years ago when i went to pick up the first 13 Ram I had! The paint had several flaws in it, but the rest of the truck was perfect, still i decided to walk after they offered to fix the problems. So I got the replacement and it had even more flaws and had other problems on top! I kicked myself for not just letting them repair it. So what I'm geting at is if the rest of the truck is perfect, don't make the mistake I did and just have them repaint the door, and enjoy the truck! Ask them to throw in a few oil changes for the inconvenience! You never know what the next truck you order is going to look like! You could end up waiting forever for the perfect truck!

My Benz GLK is, my old Toyota 4runner when I bought was perfect no real defects. Ford uses too many people, need more robots and get inspectors to check better. I watched a ton of factory videos of building F-150 and all the inspectors final qa) do like dog shows, swipe there hands over things and give a quick glance.

If that was to happen to me I might reorder. Corrected at the factory is factory, corrected at the dealer is the same as if it was damaged in an accident........IMO

LONE STAR
For the amount of money customer's are paying, I would expect higher QC. I've seen better QC on a $10,000 KIA. Hopefully Ford makes improvements quickly as the competitive landscape will only get tougher.
