I think there are multiple things included with that TSB aside from just transmission tuning. Some people have reported the chime sound being different sometimes, I actually heard it myself the other day. Almost seems like they took code from the 2014 software and copied it over but forgot to update some things with the new stuff.

Some people also reported the auto-start auto climate working properly after getting the trans TSB done. I saw this morning (45 degrees out) that my truck started blowing heat once it was warm and my seat heater had started despite not seeing any lights on the dash, and I haven't had the TSB done (nor have I had the hard 5-4 downshift). My truck is a march 2015 build so any built from then on probably already had the flash done.

Also seems to address the shift hesitation from rev to fwd when cold

That could be too. Though Ford automatics have always had those issues (4r70w comes to mind).

Mind is a April 7th build and I had the harsh downshift. Also I didn't like how the transmission shifted. Had the TSB 15-0142 done and truck is much better.

But did you special order? Mine sat on the lot for a while so I wonder if maybe it got done while it was there.

Either way, I've got 1100 miles on it now and I have no complaints about the trans other than the typical Ford slow change from R-->D. I guess if I start noticing the hard 5-4 I'll bring it in.

Doubtful

dealers don't bring in inventory units to perform TSBs

there was also about 10 hours between when I said 'I'll take the deal' and when I actually got to the dealer to pick it up, so who knows.

Hi ranger4484,

How many miles are on your truck? I'll see how I can help make that shift a bit smoother.

Mine goes in Friday for the first oil change and the TSB. I hope this fixes it.
