Saying that "Conglomerate A" has the best selling hamburger in America is no different than saying GM has the best selling truck in America because their multiple brands collectively sell more than the McDonald's or Ford BRANDS isn't "just semantics really". It's simply not accurate.
Ok. I've got no problem if we disagree.

I don't consider a company that filed for bankruptcy and survived only because it was GIVEN taxpayer dollars to be 'successful'.

Yes, I know that was your point ...

Ford has never received a bailout. Ford took a LOAN years ago and REPAID it IN FULL years ago.

GM and Chrysler took bailouts (taxpayer dollars of which only a small portion was repaid - most with OTHER taxpayer dollars that were also GIVEN to them) and had massive debt wiped away thanks to federal bankruptcy laws. Millions of investors lost billions of dollars, but GM, Chrysler and the labor unions made out like bandits.

Chrysler also took a federal loan years ago (80's), but did repay that one.

Little sensitive with a lot of republican smoke. Ford would of had gone down with the ship too and that is why Ford was at Congress with GM and Crysler. Sure we lost 11.1 billion on GM but TARP made money: spent 421 billion spent got 432 billion back. So personally think everybody came out in the end.... Oh yeah, GO FORD

General Motors is the one who markets Chevrolet as a brand, and GMC as a separate brand.
It is not like Ford or Ram force them to.
If Ford chose to market trucks into 2 different division, that would be up them them. But they don't .

Didn't Reagan bail out Ford when the gov asked them to recall 23 million vehicles?

Yes in fact it was the largest recall in the history of the U.S.

21,000,000 Ford NHTSA ID 81V-008: 1970-80 Ford cars & trucks with automatic transmissions that fail to hold or engage in Park. Rather than repair vehicles, Ford send owners a warning label to be placed on dash. 1-9-81

Taxpayers lost $10.5 billion when the stock was sold that the government received in the TARP program.
