Default New F 150 outselling Chevrolet trucks by a BUNCH!

From an article I read this morning......anyone for 38 years straight being the best selling? Sounds like a sure thing!!

What's more, Ford sells a lot of these high-priced F-150s. Through April, 2015 U.S. sales of the F-Series (which includes the F-150 and its Super Duty siblings) have totaled 240,139 units, meaning Ford is outselling rival General Motors' (NYSE: GM) Chevy Silverado line of trucks by a good 39%.

Either you or I are reading those results incorrectly. What I'm reading shows that GM is beating Ford sales in trucks?

Sounds like fuzzy math they start out by saying "meaning Ford is outselling rival General Motors" and then move into the Chevrolet Silverado.

Regardless of the article IMO Sierra and Silverado are basically the same exact vehicle splitting them into different categories would by like splitting the Kansas City and Dearborn plants or platinum and lariat.

The F-150 out sells any other half ton when considered on a stand alone basis. But considering that GM has both the Silverado and Sierra their sales numbers beat the F-150 when combined. Its been like that since I could remember.

I'm new to trucks. I don't understand how they split out one company into two because of "stand alone". What's the difference between and GM and a Chevrolet because honestly they look like the same truck to me with different options.

But if I understand your comment GM/Chevy have been outselling Ford trucks for a long time?

Devil is in the details, eh?

the GMC is essentially the Lariat and up of the Chev's, so yes, they are the exact same trucks.

Not so sure about that, my father has a 2015 Silverado High Country. That thing is easily as high end as a GMC Sierra Denali
