I currently have HIDs that do not always fire (have to turn on/off to get them to fire). I want something similar to the fogs as headlights as well.
I have no idea which bulb you would want for high/lows.

I just meant if you did not have LEDs for headlights already, would you use similar that you have for fogs, but correct bulb for headlights.

the manual says the fogs are 9140 and the high beams (non LED) are 9005/HB3?

I plan on ording my Bakflip F1 tomorrow.

BoozeDaily, which Backflip did you end up getting? I was contemplating between the F1 and the G2 but I like the longer warranty of the F1.

Daaaaaan,

Did you get any error messages on the truck when you installed these?

Be careful with those lights in the fog housings. They are designed as Headlights, not fogs. They will get hotter (the LED chips do get hot) in a small housing, and if the cooling fans are hit with water & road debris it is a recipe for premature failure. It may void the warranty, because that's not what they were designed for.

I'll be the "serious little pig" here- I like Phillips Extreme Vision Halogen bulbs for OE HL & driving lights. They are safe for housings, as bright as they come w/o giving up bulb life hours and though pricey they are safer as considerably brighter-all while not compromising the design of the reflector of your lighting unit. LED's can be brighter but often don't reflect properly based on the chips position on the LED unit not being correct. Ebay/web are full of pics showing brighter but not effective lighting.
I'm a MC guy and LED's get even more attention on bikes based on low current draw but often not the best choice. Signal & brake lamps as an e.g. are often brighter & cheaper!!! using a conventional incandescent bulb. I do run LED driving lights on MC for conspicuity as small, cheap, bright and low current on weaker charging systems. LED's get over used in spite of their advantages/weaknesses.

I did not get any error message.

I'm aware these are "headlights", I feel though there is ample air flow around the heat sink that it should be an issue of overheating and killing the bulb, if it does oh well, I'm out 80 bucks.

I let them run for a good 20-30 min and I felt 0 heat on the fog lamp housing, or the heat sink. And where its located, road debris/water should be minimal, but only time will tell.
