I've followed some of your past adventures, and now find myself trying to find a 8" cluster for my XLT. Did you get the dual zone function to work too or just the blue backlighting?

Edit: I was following another members thread on cluster swap..

Yeah i did. It required a few extra parts as well as a new harness specific to the dual climate control. I havent added the seat cooling parts because honestly im not really interested in it..beside there are multile TSBs out on it so not motivated...lol maybe later after I get a few other systems up and online. Bugs, always bgs to work through and schematics to go back over.

Anything outside of that widow comes within a specific range, and it will honk the horn once to warn away. I know this as I am researching IF I can retrofit this part of the VSS to my 2016 XLT. Hopefully its just a new console to replace mine, a harness and a different control module. We will see.

This is what the unit looks like, FWIW.

Mine is the Limited and it looks like it has it. I took a picture but can't figure out how to post it. It's doesn't seem to work though. Does it have to be activated by the dealer or something? I'm starting to think they didn't even bother installing the perimeter plus that I paid for. I definately don't see the LED anywhere.

I'm not asking to be a dick because I'm sure you had your reasons but wouldn't it have been easier to buy the truck with the options you wanted factory installed rather then doing everything yourself?

No, 1st because I hate payments, and as such, I paid cash for my XLT sport with the options I wanted most...Twin panel roof 8 " touch screen, nav, center console power lock tailgate and power rear window. A few of these items, twin panel roof, that I could NOT add on my own later. 2nd because as a retired USMC engineer I've learned to do certain things in the field with whatever I had....and 3rd I truly enjoy the challenge/reward. My XLT, if anything, is pretty unique with parts from all trim levels above it. I've started my build.....the pics of my creation should speak to the outcome. Sorry, I know it sounds silly but this is the path I've chosen to create something that is an extension oh my personality. I don't see your question as being a dick at all. Thanks for the respectful way you asked it. I appreciate that. Hey what I'm doing isn't for everyone, just me. I'll never take the "easy" route...it's crowed with too many people already.

I appreciate it but you don't have to thank me. Thank you though for the words.

I wondered what those little round things were in the overhead console. I thought they were microphones for the hands free. Just opened a window, locked the truck, and tested them. As soon as I stuck my hand in, it went off. That's awesome.
