I have a 16 Platinum, and yes this is defiantly an issue that effects those models. Especially when you live in Arizona

Boy do I agree with that, I'm in Oro Valley (NW Tucson) and my 13 worked great and my 16 sucks, but if that's the only problem that I've had since I bought it in February then I guess I can live it it, but it is a little hot on my behind if my truck has been out in the sun.

I can relate to the heat, and need for cooled seats that work. In FL here. I've been looking to buy my first F-150 since I had my 78 when I was 18! Looks like things have changed just a little since then. Still having a hard time getting my head around how I spend almost $60K on a truck, and have to buy a workaround out of pocket to get a feature to function properly. Ford should be paying Tim to provide this fix as warranty work. Good to know there don't seem to be a lot of other widespread problems though. Great forum here...

OK guys my apologies. I had a crazy busy week at work and my nights were stacked solid with meetings or teaching kiddos about archery. There will be two sample kits going out to two people (I already had them lined up so no need to ask). I have the both printers running like crazy and will have some true details soon. I have a new website in the works that I should have live by the end of the week. If you have a kit on order and have not seen a tracking number that means you will be getting the updated kit and sorry for the delay.

I will be offering V2 upgrade to all of the previous buyers at a discount because I only feel it is fair.

I am also sorry that a few of you have PM'd me and I have not responded. I will be diligent tomorrow to get caught back up. Thanks guys. Hope to have the full blown release yet this week.

I just picked up a 2015 new F150 King ranch. My seats do not cool on the back. There are hindreds of pages. Can anyone quickly give me an idea of any recalls I should know about and what I need to do to fix this?

I don't even own this truck yet, but did enough reading on this topic - Here is the FAQ page you need to reference:
https://www.f150forum.com/f118/cooli...3/#post4871251

There is no recall. Ford does not acknowledge that there is a problem, except to offer you a "fix" that really just covers their *ss from a safety standpoint - it does not fix the functionality of the seat cooling. You don't want that "fix". You want to order the kit from "SeatGuru"- its a DIY kit that is a correction of the poor design Ford implemented. Yep, its out of pocket - nope Ford doesn't offer a factory recall or correction of this problem as ridiculous as that is.

REPOST FROM ORIGINAL #4302

Just a note folks.... I got to know Tim fairly well during our discussions/work with Ford Engineering leading up to the TSB and I feel he is a great and talented guy. I want to remind you that Tim has a REAL fulltime business that has nothing to do with seats or vehicles.... he does what he does because he is a dedicated automobile engineer in a prior life that saw a better way to execute the current design of the cooled seats..... and he shared that with us, at first totally pro bono!!! Neither of us got anything from Ford for our time and effort other than a first install of the TSB that then was rolled out..... OK.... Tim got a hat maybe....still waiting for mine from Ford...LOL

Any financial rewards he gets from his seat engineering changes are richly deserved and doing the research, taking FLIR readings, building a website and producing/selling his kits come at the expense of time away from his DAY JOB...and more importantly to him, HIS FAMILY......smile.

Please remember that when it takes a little more time for him to respond than you would like.....he is not a vendor.....he is a contributor and innovator.

He probably would not say the above, but I WILL.....I hope all of you share my personal respect for him and what he does for our Forum Community!!......AZPLAT

OK I am waiting for some help troubleshooting the paypal buttons but this is the preview of the website for the Ford parts.

http://seatguru.wixsite.com/fordseatfix

If anyone has feedback PLEASE use the contact form and send me the info.

Right now I plan on adding:
-instructions page with detailed info on installation.
-fitment guide for vehicles that it works on (explorer etc)
