I sent Ford a couple of message directly, told my dealer when I bought it, and I will continue to hound the service guys about updates that will fix it.

My complaint is more so how easy it would be to remove, disable, or toggle this feature and how little is being done about it. In some of Fords competitors you can change how your fake noise sounds, like today its a Nissan GTR and tomorrow its a 100cc fiat. C'mon today I could sound like a T800 Kenworth and tomorrow I could sound like a 427 cobra jet. In the end the factory stereo sounds obviously digitally molested and an off switch for all that crap usually improves sound quality for your music.

On a side note the 2015's are very quiet. Without the fake noise there isn't much to listen to.

I wish you guys the best of luck but given the luck us guys with older trucks and garbage sync have been having getting bluetooth to be made a default setting I'd say you're hosed.

Has anybody actually got a response from Ford? All I got was something about my concerns being documented, blah blah blah.

They already have a patch to disable the "fake" V8 noise.

It's called "order the 5.0L V8 engine with the REAL V8 noise" !!

The noise is designed specifically to eliminate road noise and make the cabin more enjoyable. It's not just about the engine noise.

Ford is by far not the first to do this and not the last. Dr. Bose has been on this for awhile. Do some research on noise cancelling.

Also if you think that you are so special that every company that gets a letter from you and will personally respond you just don't have a grasp of reality. There is no way possible to have a staff to do this.

You letter gets put into a pile of similar complaints and if it gets big enough it gets addressed. The govt. does the same thing. Be happy you got a "canned" response and patiently wait to see if things change. Engineering doesn't happen in a day and the functioning noise cancellation that a minority doesn't like isn't likely very high on the "to fix" list.

Audio system = ON: the musical output from same should provide all the user-discretionary 'masking' required or desired.

Audio system = OFF: the NVH engineering should provide all the road noise, etc suppression required.

Note 1: Item 1 facilitates further enjoyment of Item 2.

Note 2: If additional noise suppression is required due to insufficient (passive) NVH measures, perhaps the R&D $&$ spent on fake noises would have been better utilized in providing an active noise cancellation option (not for free of course, lol).

You can't "engineer away" ALL road and engine noise. Tires on bad roads and moving mechanical parts make noise. When cars fly and have no moving parts, you'll get much closer. Of course, then there is wind noise. And CurryBob's flux capacitor.

Noise cancelation is obtained by producing a signal (sound) 180° out of phase and at the same volume as the sound you are trying to cancel. This makes it almost impossible for the human ear to hear the original sound.

Road noise cancelation is not achieved by injecting synthetic engine sounds. Drowning out road noise can be achieved by injecting synthetic engine sound, but that's not needed in the cab of quiet 2015 F-150. You should do some research on noise cancelling.

And yes Ford does respond to inquiries and concerns. Management follows and responds in this forum and I've had a response to an inquiry email from a V.P. recently.

Sure you can - just takes money and the will to exploit already-current off-the-shelf technology.

Any noise source - be it wind, engine, chassis, road, or yer passenger's farts, can be suppressed with active measures. It's all just pressure and frquency to yer ear - alter that, and you've suppressed the issue.
