Did you really pay FULL sticker price for your truck?

I was wondering if he just walked in and paid whatever they said...

Default I got it just a tad under invoice !

I got my Lariat just a little bit under invoice. $60K was full MSRP plus taxes. I got it around $51K plus 6% Sales tax.

Hmm....

$51,000 plus 6% sales tax = ~$54,000

Your tad under $60,000 must be a bigger tad than my tad.

OP - Drive them all. With the SAME engines you're actually considering. Make it an actual apples-to-apples comparison. Many people like the GMs, as they're supposedly very quiet. I've never been a fan of Dodge/RAM trucks. Just not my thing, after experiences with other Chrysler products in the past. I have friends who swear by them.

This is my first Ford after many years of owning GM SUV's and trucks (Chevy S10 Blazer back in the day followed by family cars, then a '99 GMC Sierra, '01 Sierra C3, and '03 Chevy Avalanche). I'm very happy with the switch after almost 8K troublefree miles.

In the end, it won't be a decision. More of a "foregone conclusion."

Maybe the $60K included factory options plus some third-party add-ons. Check his sig:

Thanks for the great info!

I must have got lucky as my 2010 Ram ran great, never in the shop except for oil changes.

I'm not looking to haul or tow, more of using as a daily driver.

I've driven both the Lariat and Laramie. Both drive great, but I do like the body style of the Lariat a little more. If it had dual exhausts, front facing radar sensing and wood steering wheel like the Ram it would be perfect.

I cross shopped the Ram Sport 1500 Hemi and the Lariat 502a 3.5 eco. They were fairly comparably equipped but the Lariat had a couple more doo dads that I wouldn't have ordered if they weren't buried in the 502a package. (Though I'm now glad I have them. Lol)

I bought the Lariat and am happy with it but....I could have got a screaming deal on a Ram. You get 10K off the Sports without trying. In the end I paid about 6,000 more for the Lariat than I would have the Ram post negotiations. Now is the Lariat worth 6k more than the Ram? I dunno. I think I would have been just as happy in the Ram (and i like the looks a bit better) but couldn't get past Chrysler's quality history. The Ford will hold it's value better too.

I almost bought the RAM myself, but decided to give the new F-150 a shot before i dropped 50k. FWIW, I went from a 11 X5 35D to this "mid-level" truck and love it.

What really made the difference to me was the "fun" factor. My old BMW had the 240HP/420FT/lb diesel and it was just boring after 25mph. If the 3.5 doesn't impress you, look elsewhere. For a pulse. BUT... the MPG is about 10 MPG lower.....
