Your trying to reconnect the knuckle to the UCA? I did this install alone myself and it's a bitch getting that reconnected. I had to contort the truck with jack under the knuckle, it lifted way off my stands. Once I was put back together I lowered the spring setting 3/8", what is your measure from the black ring to the bottom of the treads?

Something is wrong with it, it has to compress some. Ideally the 1.5" setting with the weight of the truck on it.

i just wrapped a ratchet strap around the other coil and wrenched away at it and it doesnt seem to compress at all either....

the distance from bottom of black ring to bottom of threads is about 1/32 under 5inches.

I don't think anything is wrong with them, they come 5.5" from the black ring to the bottom of the threads on the coil which means they are jacked up to full height, or I assume full tension. Problem is if he lowers them before install it may be very difficult to raise them up again with the weight of the truck.

the were supposed to come set to only 1.5 inch left.

i set my factory coilover on a block of wood(since the bolts pertrude from the bottom) and it measured 26.5 inches to the top of the coil.

the boss coil measures 27.25inches which is only .75 inches taller...

so at this point you have the 3 bolts at the top connected and the 2 at the very bottom?

You just jack the truck up to let the spring decompress to change the height.
If its set for 3" now and won't compress it would be a very stiff ride and the shock is topped out.

its not. its only set for 1.5 inch as im installing a 1.5 in leveling block on top of the boss setup so i dont have to crank the coil up and have a crappy ride..
