Squirrelyyy, can't tell from the picture, do you have the spray-in bedliner? I just ordered my Revolver X2 (for my Black Platinum, yeeeahbuddy! lol) and I'm trying to figure out if I'll need shims also. Defender's theory is that you don't need them with spray-in bedliner. Don't really want to have to deal with that.

Also, next question: Whatcha got under that boat cover over there behind the truck? Anything good? haha

Mine has spray-in liner (Linex) and needed shims.

Yes I have the spray in liner the shims were no big deal, but I was fortunate enough the have a couple pieces of plastic laying around and had some 3m tape trust me a piece of cake. Without shims the rails were digging into tailgate they were needed to get the height to clear.

I'm a bit lost about the shims. Why do we need them?

Hey 9 County...Someone told me about your shims and I wanted to point out that the wood is not recommended for long term use by the Factory. Wood i pretty porus and can expand and contract from moisture. Please contact jesus@bakindustries.com and tell him that Morrie suggested that you contact him for a package of plastic factory shims. Thanks for the great review. The RevolverX2 has become out #1 seller and after 9 years in the market i think its the best designed cover available today. The RevolverX2 is also 100% compatible with the TracRacSR if you ever need canoe, kayak, ladder racks for your truck. We just launched our new home page featuring all the top tonneau and rack combos. Please check it out www.tonneaufactoryoutlet.com
We are there 7 days a week...Thanks, Morrie

FYI. move the rear clamps as close to the tailgate as possible and the rails will level out. I didn't like the fact that the rear of the tonneau cover was sticking up too high. Moved them back and its perfect.

Hi Morrie, it's Steve from Valencia. Picked up my order from Bak yesterday and installed the tonneau. It's awesome! Thanks again!

I bought my bak from Truck champ, paid 756. That said I have to say the quality was little disappointing. Alot of the weather seal cuts are not straight, the front corner is not glue properly(see daylight through it). Lots of aluminum shaving rolled up in the cover. etc.

Gents,
Great looking trucks and nice covers.
Not that anyone asked but since this Forum is so helpful I thought I would try to add value.....

I live in Southern Ontario and have a 2011 F150 with the 6.5ft bed.
I bought the Gen1 Revolver X2 cover (then called the Roll X) shortly after buying my truck...early 2012 after finding my Extang solid fold was freezing to my bed.
I called Morrie and he shipped the Tonneau to my house for a great price (Ontario dealers were much much higher).
After 3.5-4yrs the tonneau is still working/looking awesome. I have had 1.5ft of snow on it (which I prefer to clear off) with no issues.
I frequently haul dirt bikes and the front tire won't reach the front bed wall with the cover on (tire is too tall). I cut a small piece of plywood the width of the bed and 2ft long and put chocks on it so that it holds my front tire right at the edge of the cover and it works very well for me.

Happy trucking!
